HOT HOT HOT!

It's been pretty steamy out there the past few days and it's only going to get worse! Just remember the days we were freezing cold looking for a place to get warm :) Please make sure that you wear breathable comfortable clothing for your workouts and the most important thing to remember is HYDRATION.  Here are a few tips on how much water you should intake:

  • Drink about 17 ounces of fluid 2 to 3 hours before exercise.
  • Drink about 8 to 10 ounces of water 10 to 20 minutes before exercise.
  • Drink about 8 to 10 ounces of water during your workout.
  • Continue drinking water after your workout to replace any fluids lost
  •  Stay away from beverages that dehydrate you such as sugary sports drinks, coffee, sodas and alcohol.
  •  Drink Cold Pure Green Tea w/ fresh squeezed lemon
  •  WATER WATER WATER is the best thing for you!!!

  • I have updated the 30day results under the tab, Kerry is leading with a two pound weight loss for last week! Nice job Kerry! Meg made her way to the board as well with a one pound weight loss! Let's get everyone on the board and start putting up some big numbers!

    Have a great day Ladies!

Memorial Day Weekend! Think Fit & Think Thin~

The season of picnics, BBQ's, and parties is here, kick off weekend=Memorial day!  Just a reminder that along with the food and delicious cocktails that come with these backyard events are the Lazy Beach Days or Poolside Days.  At every bbq or picnic think about what you'd like to look like on the beach and what you want your friends and relatives to see when you arrive at the events this weekend and for the rest of the summer! Think "Fit" and think "thin" ladies! Eat smart, drink smart and look FIT!! Remember that nothing is worth how healthy, thin and fit feels! Remember that nothing is better than seeing the heads to turn and hearing the compliments filtering in, OMG you look sooooo Good, and OMG what are you doing you look amazing, OMG I could never run that far, and the compliments go on.  Be on the receiving end! What I'm saying in too many words is, pick one bbq that you want to indulge at and at the others stay away from the booze and burgers and potato salad and chips and eat healthy, choose a hamburger without the bun, or go for the grilled chicken and some salad.  We also face that food is often left out longer at summer picnics and the urge to go for seconds is there, DON'T DO IT! ;) Fill up a cup of water with lemon and lime and engage in a conversation with someone you haven't seen in a while until the urge passes! Wishing each of you a safe and fun holiday weekend and I hope to see some of you tomorrow and Monday morning! Think "Fit" Think "Thin" Think "Fit" Think "Thin" Think "Fit" Think "Thin"

    What's Your Eating Style?

It's important to know what your eating style is, many of us eat for different reasons and intake unwanted calories because we are simply misinformed.  See the different styles below and see which style you are, the first step to being informed.

Uninformed Eater...You have good intentions but you may not have the best information.  Learning about healthy food choices and counting calories will help you to reach your goal of living a healthy lifestyle.  Your goal should be not to simply portion control, but to learn which foods are best and to count the calories these foods contain.

Emotional Eater...You respond to in the moment feelings instead of the actual physical hunger cues.  Slow down, before you take that bite, ask yourself, am I eating because I'm hungry? Because I need food right now? or Because I'm sad, happy, excited, depressed, whatever the emotion may be. Your goal should be to eat only when you are hungry and only the amount you need to refuel.

Unconscious Eater...You miss meals, eat meals while doing something else or you eat something simply because it's there.  Most people fall here, we forget a meal, so we make up for it at another, we eat while we are working or on the road, or we eat because something is given to us, we walk by it, it's "simply" just there.  Your goal should be to enjoy the pleasure of eating meals and learn how to say no and/or walk by foods that are just there.  Eat only when hungry!

Social Eater...You are tempted to eat by a variety of people, places and events.  Your goal, remember that this is your life and your body and only you can control what you put in it.  Do not allow other people to push unhealthy choices on you.  Chances are you will feel worse after you have eaten and you will regret that you went along with the crowd.  We live our lives and yes we will go to superbowl parties, birthday parties, weddings, etc but this doesn't mean we have to endulge on what everyone else.  Make a game plan, drink water and stick to the veggie platter and dinner only.

Each of you fits into one of the categories above and you might even be a mixture of them.

Your goal is to become a BALANCED EATER!! A balanced eater has a healthy relationship with food and is able to make nutritious choices and balance them with the pleasure of eating.  This includes portion control, physical activity and a healthy mindset.  Remember that the key to becoming a balanced eater is self monitoring, keeping a journal or a log to keep track of what goes in so you can better establish what and when you eat.

Cheers to leading a Healthy Balanced Lifestyle!!
