Wednesday...A Fashion Tip or Two!

Most of us are running around in the morning trying to figure out what to wear to work and spend the weekends wondering what we should wear to that party or out with our girlfriends.  We look for items that will make us look peeerrrtyy and that we feel comfortable wearing.  However, we are all guilty of wearing items that are just NO good!  Here are a few tips to keep you looking 10 pounds lighter just by what are wearing and to keep you looking your best at the office or out for a night on the town:

1. Wear Flattering Colors --Black is the most slimming color out there and every one of us should own many black pants, shirts, skirts and of course "a little black dress"!  Of course you can't wear black every day so you could go with a darker blue, purple or brown which all have a slimming effect.  Always remember that white and khaki make your body appear larger, if you have a large frame stay away from light colors as they draw more attention.  Khaki is also a no no for women who have wide hips.

2. Patterns -- Always remember although it is some what okay to wear black bottoms and a black top, it is not okay to wear all purple, all white, all blue and/or all polka dot, leapord or any other print for that matter.  Nor should you ever mix prints.  With that said remember that a printed top is surely going to draw attention to those areas you might be trying to hide as well as if you wear printed bottoms they will do the same.

3. Shoes! -- Never purchase a shoe based upon the fact that you saw someone else wearing them, buy what is right for you.  If you are short a pointy shoe will make you look taller and slimmer.  If you are tall, skyscraper heels are not going to hide your tall appearance.  Be careful with patterned shoes and shoes that might draw attention to larger feet.

4. Accessories -- This one is easy, if you are a smaller person you should stick to smaller, petite accessories, thin belts, tiny purses, little earrings, small necklaces, etc.  If you are a larger person you should be rocking larger accessories, chunky belts, long necklaces, bigger bags.  Accessorizing properly will make you look slimmer.  If you are a big girl wearing little accessories you are drawing more attention to your bigger frame and the same goes for little ones wearing big accessories.

5. TAN -- And the #1 way to have yourself appear slimmer than you really are?  A GREAT TAN.  Now of course the sun and tanning beds are not good for you and I don't encourage you to run out to a tanning bed.  But there are self tanners and some great moisturizers that include bronzers and I would suggest you experiment and find the one that is right for you.  Always remember tan "fat" is way better than pasty white "fat".  A tan can hide anything from wrinkles to cellulite.
