Chicken Soup for the Runner's Soul

As I woke up this morning I began to realize - OMG what am I getting myself into tomorrow!! For those that don't know I will be running my first 15K (9.3 miles) I have been doing long runs on Saturdays to prepare for the upcoming race, but I haven't run 9 miles yet! I am not questioning if I can finish the race, but can I finish in a timely maner or will I sych myself out and just do a slow jog the whole time so I do finish! So many thoughts going through my head about the race - what to wear, where to put my stuff!! So much to worry about. As I sit here and write all the things I am worried about I forget to commend myself for how far I have come and the progress that has been made. Not that long ago I could barely and I mean BARELY! run a lap around the track. So as I run the race tomorrow, for me I will try my best not to think why am I doing this to myself, but wow look at you now!! Running 9.3 miles!!! Always remember how far you have come, it will help you cross that finish line - if you have done it once you can do it again! Good luck to all the ladies running tomorrow!!! We can do it :)
