You woke up this morning to the sound of your alarm and raindrops hitting your window, some chose to hit dismiss on the alarm rollover and go back to bed, the others contemplated but managed to get dressed and get out the door.
The First trick to beating the gloomy rain blues is in fact GETTING YOURSELF OUT THE DOOR! Once you are there here are 5 benefits of working out in the rain: No heat exhaustion as the rain actually cools air temperature, a more intense workout since you will be cooler than on nonrainy days, the rain can allow puddles and debris to accumulate which in turn makes you have to work a little harder to navigate bringing smaller muscles into play that are generally not put to use, when working out in the rain you develop physical and mental toughness and finally when the hour is up you feel like a million bucks and instead of facing the gloomy day with a gloomy attitude you can look forward to what is ahead!
Never use the RAIN as an excuse to miss your workout. Working out in the rain can be Fun, challenging and rewarding. Again, the hardest part is getting out the door.
The next time you are faced with the decision of pressing lifetime snooze on your alarm clock or going to workout in the rain, choose getting up and getting your butt to Bootcamp. You are important, you are worth it and you can DO IT!
