An Inspirational Story!

I wanted to share with you today a story about an individual whom I have never met, but whose story has really touched my heart.  Her name is Sarah and I work with her sister Lilly, Lilly and I have had many conversations about her sisters fitness routines, she bikes, swims and runs all the time.  She most recently completed the NYC marathon!
A quick background is that about 23 years ago Sarah was struck by a truck and suffered severe head trauma.  She was induced into a coma for 3 months and spent the year following in a rehab center learning all over again how to speak, walk, etc, all of the things we take for granted on a daily basis she had to learn all over again.  Now 23 years later she still suffers from small disabilites but has proven that she will not let her injury or the accident take over her life.

She joined Achilles which is a group that helps those athletes with disabilites to complete all of their goals from a race to a swim to a bike or a marathon in Sarah's case.  I encourage you to view the link below which is a tribute to Sarah.

I was touched by the video and I am touched by her story.  The power inside of us is stronger than we know.  I share this with you because there is always something that can hold you back from attaining your fitness goals and you can let it win or you can find the strength within and rise above.  Each of you is capable of way more than you know and I hope that this story will be an inspiration to you as much as it was to me.
